Drumming

Yesterday, we got to be a part of a drumming show. We each got our own drum. We had to watch and listen carefully to the drummer and copy him.

This term for art we are focusing on Maori legends. We have done Maui and the Sun, Hatupatu, The Fish of Maui, Rona and the Moon and Uenuku and the Mist Maiden. Watch the clips to learn more about the legends.

Kapa haka

This term for music we are focusing on kapa haka and performance to prepare us for our production at the end of the term. This is Te Iti Kahurangi a kapa haka group from Hamilton who are great performers. Watch how they perform ad grab the audience attention.

Welcome back!!!

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you all had a nice holiday. This term we have so many exciting things to learn.

This term we are learning about Maori legends, Kapa haka, plays and lots more!
This term Lytton Street School is having a production which is why we are going to work on performance.
